Stupid - ALT-F5 not functional

i deleted it under services, and it doesn't show there now. but still the screen goes black when pressing ALT-F5.

What do you mean with "deleted"?
All you have to do is to end the service and set it to "disabled".

If you really have deleted the service with some tool or manual operation in the registry without disabling it at first you have to reboot.

that's what i did first, i disabled it. but it didn't help, so i got rid of it. and i rebooted many times since then, but still i get the bloody black screen.

will try the other service now.

plz delete this here, got a "critical database error" but seems the posting still got entered into the DB.

/edit: yes, killing ATIpTaxx.exe does help, but there's no tray icon after this. who cares.
