What do you mean?

Unrecognized hard links give you the false believe that the data is twice (or more times) on your drive. This false believe can be misleading that you want to change or overwrite only one of this copies and to leave the other copy untouched. But this is impossible if this file names are only hard links to the same data.

Yeah, deleting a file name referencing a hard link only deletes the reference count.

That is the only action which is save with hard links - but not changing or overwriting.

IMHO a file manager should manage such file system related things. First step for managing is to perceive.
