7. Maximized the viewer via double click on the title bar
8. Pressed Alt+Enter
-> it was maximized just fine, no menu bar in sight.
I repeated the same with history.txt in step 6, same results.

Re: Lister: Alt+Enter (fullscreen) doesn't hide the title bar the first time
You wrote that you had to press Alt+Enter twice to get rid of the menu bar. I cannot reproduce that, it disappears immediately on the first Alt+Enter (I fixed my post, Nr. 8 should read "no menu bar in sight").
When I press Alt+Enter a second time, the Lister window returns to maximized view.

1. I take the easiest ini:
Code: Select all
[Configuration]
UseIniInProgramDir=7
FirstTimeIconLib=0
[Lister]
Maximized=1
3. F3 on C:\test.txt.
4 (TC x32). Alt+Enter first time. The title isn't hidden. I click a second and third time. The title is hidden. Animation.
4. (TC x64). I press Alt+Enter for the first time. The title and menu are not hidden. I press it a second and third time. All is hidden.

Not happening here with your ini (tried on Windows 7 with classic theme).
What does your test.txt contain? Does it happen with history.txt from TC 10.50 beta 4?

Try this:
1. Run: SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe. Select ◉ Adjust for best Perfomence. Apply.
2. Run: sc stop Themes
3. Run the test in the Lister again.
test.txt is empty. With history.txt the same thing. I already wrote above that the content and type do not matter.

Maybe that's the problem? Some window-screen inconsistencies?

Maybe it's something with your video driver? Some lame NVidia, I guess? Or another resident tool catching hotkeys?

Too bad, coz here I have very reproduceable behavior when Lister+TC hang 100%.
And concerning "the Lister window returns to maximized view."
Maybe window looks like maximized, but in fact it's sizable?
It only is opening for a full screen formally. Not more. See my picture №2

No. If this were the case, then the problem would be repeated with other themes (Aero).

Small correction:ghisler(Author) wrote: 2022-05-06, 14:51 UTC You wrote that you had to press Alt+Enter twice to get rid of the menu bar. I cannot reproduce that, it disappears immediately on the first Alt+Enter (I fixed my post, Nr. 8 should read "no menu bar in sight").
When I press Alt+Enter a second time, the Lister window returns to maximized view.
I should press only ONCE in order to get title bar hidden. And Lister goes into the state "Opened as a FULL screen Window".
BUT i am curious, so I decided to check WHAT will happening If i will press keys twice.
And as result I've got a huge hang disaster. reproducible for 1000%
In fact, I didn't even expect that a second press would have to return the window to its previous state.
Although I have described to you the situation that even if I don't press these buttons twice - the Lister window returns to NOT exactly the same previous state as it was before the window was opened in full screen mode! Have you read this moment?

Re: Lister: Alt+Enter (fullscreen) doesn't hide the title bar the first time
I have now tried it on a real Windows 7 system, 64-bit, with classic theme, and it doesn't happen there either. Alt+Enter maximizes Lister in TC 32-bit and 64-bit. But it doesn't correctly restore it in TC 32-bit when I press Alt+Enter again, so I will try to find a solution for that.
The system I tried it on is my old PC with first generation core i5 and a GeForce 1030, which I added because I took my better card to my new PC.

Can you perhaps then reproduce what I describe here: https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=76559 ?But it doesn't correctly restore it in TC 32-bit when I press Alt+Enter again

Re: Lister: Alt+Enter (fullscreen) doesn't hide the title bar the first time
That's a bit different, although I managed to reproduce that too:
Here in this thread, when I press Alt+Enter a second time, the window gets back the title bar, menu and size, but it's no longer maximized when using Windows 7, but it is on Windows 10.
But the issue of this thread that the title bar isn't hidden for some people is still a mystery for me.

Confirmed. I have autohide taskbar too, on Windows 11.
Only 32-bit dark mode works OK. 32-bit normal mode does a bit better, but not OK.
64-bit dark en normal mode not OK.

Great, now I can reproduce it too, thanks! There is a white bar where the menu was, but the title bar seems to be gone. I will try to find out what's going on.
