As for virtual machines, I agree, it makes sense there.

I carefully make sure that the programs in the portable assembly don't leave any records behind, including at the expense of autorun.wdx, so I essentially have nothing to give up. The issue of TC portability has not lost its relevance, therefore, applications running together in the assembly should correspond to this.
I didn't write that any record must necessarily go only with the installation. But the appearance of a confirmation dialog that allows you to create this entry in the same way as a command-line switch looks exactly like this.
