Necromancer's DosNavigator (Freeware). This one is updated frequently, latest release v2.15.4360 from 12.08.2005.
Development on
DosNavigator was dicontinued many years ago.
DosNavigator Open Source Project (another great freeware project based on the original) was discontinued quite some time ago too.

You should have got yourself a free Opera license a couple hours ago.
Necromancer's DosNavigator v2.15.4360 beta downloads:
DOS (runs fine in DOS-Console. My prefered version, faster than the Windows port)
WINDOWS
LINUX

You might as well ask why somebody is willing to pay for a file manager...

Of course I might, but I do not because browsers have long tradition of being free, unlike file managers.
Currently I don't know a free file manager for Windows which is nearly as useful, flexible and reliable as TC, while the difference between Mozilla/Firefox and Opera seems not big to me.

Why not play with them both in depth and discover for yourself whether or not Firefox trashes Opera, or vice versa, or if it matters at all? Since all browsers perform more or less the same fundamental functions, it makes no sense being swayed by the subjective opinions of others is there? Whichever pulls your personal chain the hardest will be the one for you (unless you're a fashion victim, that is)!

I got one, but I don't want to use an inferior browser, even if it costs the same as Firefox.
