2. You are completely wrong. I'm not lazy to do it myself, I have neither time nor money (old kind dialup) for uploading any big archive to any fileshare.

You don't need to upload anything yourself, just tell me which archives are redundant and I will gladly reupload a modified archive.
It's just that I don't feel motivated anymore to put any efforts in comparing totalcmd.net with that archive.

Added to that Ergo doesn't look interested to update totalcmd.net with content himself. I have more than once asked him by ICQ to add missing files without any response.

Why don't you look at things at more abstract way: Universe is expanding, new technologies are comming, history is repeating, TC will ultimately become garbage, Ghisler will die and his children may not be Delphi programmers at all, Russian brothers with dial-up will be exterminated finally... so... who cares if archive contains one or more underdeveloped versions, if somebody is complaining, if Ghisler has naughty saying "it's not that simple"...

... TC can be freely and easily reengineered to almost any programming language (like any other pascal-based program) and then developed as opensource :)

Extremely optimistic indeed. Can you guys not feel that the man/machine interface is on the brink of a revolution?

Your desktop PC is about to acquire an unprecedentedly huge increase in horsepower at a reasonable price. Dual core now, quad core next year, and 8 cores round the corner. The tremendous DSP power of the latest graphics cards is about to be made available for physics computations, and solid-state loudspeaker arrays are already available now.

Add that little lot together and you have the basis for a truly effective voice command and control interface on your desktop, something that wouldn't have been affordable before. That system will take off when a critical mass of the world's PCs are upgraded, and that's in the easily forseeable near future.

Someday soon you'll be able to conduct a voice command sequence with your PC on the lines of:

YOU: .....Hey, what's happening with uploading 'Proposal: No Free Beer For Tigers' to majki?
P.C: .....The !@#$-ing connection keeps going down!
YOU: .....Try again.
P.C: .....I already did - those Serbian ISPs are really rubbish!

You get the picture - file managers will not so much become garbage as fade away and become irrelevant. The possibilities are endless, don't you think?

There are so much people pretending to do SOMETHING when either THIS and/or THAT happens but at the end of the day we have to realize that it's always the same people who produce more than just noise.

NOONE will ever find the time to compare 1:1 and create a fixed archive until SOMEONE will prove me wrong of course!
