Is it possible, when compress 7z by Total7zip, do not show the 7z configuration dialog, and using previous settings to compress the new 7z archives directly?
This it how it already works here for me.

Are you sure your Total7zip.xml file is stored in a directory where you have write privileges? If you don't have write privileges to the plugins folder then place Total7zip.xml where Total Commander stores the wincmd.ini

I am the administrator of my windows, and the only one user in windows.
Total7zip.xml file is exist in
c:\totalcmd\plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.xml

If I delete Total7zip.xml, and press Ctrl+F5 select Total7zip and press [Configure...] button to config it,
a new Total7zip.xml will create and save to
c:\totalcmd\plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.xml again,
and then press [OK] to start compress,
the config dialog still shows up again.

I have test a brand new install of TC, and install Total7zip it really works.

So, is also this problem only exist on my system
I should have take some time to check my wincmd.ini...

2Total7zip Could you tell me the conditions that Total7zip brings out the config dialog? Thanks.

OK, I found my problem.

I'm setting

[PackerPlugins]
7z=223,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\7zip\7zip.wcx
7zip=735,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx

in my wincmd.ini, and when select .7zip to using Total7zip to pack files,
since .7zip is not in the format list (7z,bzip2,gzip,tar,wim,xz,zip)
which can be selected on Total7zip config dialog,
so Total7zip brings the config dialog again before packing files to .7zip archive,
manually change the archive file ext from .7zip to .7z,
Total7zip will using 7z settings, and compressing files directly without bringing out the dialog.

Sorry for this feature requesting.

I met 2 problems, I'm not sure if my operations/configurations are correct:

1. when I encrypt several hundred files (e.g. 400 files) separately, I have to enter the password 400 times. I have to use 7-zip plugin to pack them due to it has password saving function.

2.After tick the Encrypt checkbox option in Pack Files dialog and setup all (including the password) in relevant configuration dialog, I press the OK button to start packing, the configuration dialog popup again to let me setup again.

Is there any mistake I made? Thanks.

I cannot actually use x64 7zG.exe, it needs x64 7z.dll.

Well, I can, but then I cannot use Total7zip for anything but archive creation.

Now, if the plugin would use a renamed .dll, say 7z32.dll, x64 compression without breaking rest of wcx would be possible.

In fact Total7zip is a 32-bit plugin, which can use 32-bit dlls only (no matter which name they have)

But it can use 64-bit 7zG.exe to pack.

The problem is you need both 32 and 64 bit 7z.dll to make both the packing, and the archive-as-directory functionality work.

I have set TC to ignore .SVN folders.
But Total7zip ignores this ignorelist and includes .SVN folders into archive.

Is it possible to set Total7zip to honor TC's ignorelist?

Nope - youd had to recode Total7Zip to read TCs Ingnore list for that function...

This may be caused by only one reason: plugin doesn't use filelist that TC gives (which is filtered), but creates its own filelist by enumerating top-level folders.

Echo this, 7zip is the only plugin I use for TC, I could switch to 64bit RC fulltime if I had it :)
