doesnt list contents of 7z-archives anymore
hello forum!
I have used this plugin and 7zip.wcx (various versions) and it worked like expected with e.g. tc 6.54 and 7.50a
Now I am trying to update to tc 9.0a, and I am just not able to get a .lst-file with 7z-archive-contents!!!
I've tried any combinations with tc9.0a(32bit):
-wcx_Total7zip_0856.rar <--edit: wrong! it works with this!
(or)
-wcx_7zip_0.7.6.6.bin.zip
-wcx_7zip_0.7.6.5a.bin.zip
(and)
-wcx_DiskDirExtended_1.68.zip
-diskdirextended.zip (1.67)
-wcx_DiskDirExtended_1.65.zip (tc9.0a won't use it tho)
nothing worked!
Main difference from tc 9.0a is, that it now has tc7z.dll(+64), so I suppose thats where my problem comes from...
(but I don't know nothing!..)
-anyone having the same problem?
-anyone have a solution? (or an educated guess)
-any other ways to list contents of 7z-archive into a .lst-file? (with tc-version 9.0a !)
(-what is the last tc-version without "TC7Z.DLL"+"TC7Z64.DLL" ?
--will provide answer myself shortly coz this seems most hopeful "dirty solution" to me...)
greets lichtwicht
edit1: last ver w/o tc7z seems to be v8.01
edit2: against my presumptions, it didn't work with v8.01 too
-could be some configuration error from me! §wallbash
edit3: wrong statement identified (sorry for the confusion)

Tip of the day: If it has 'toolbar' in the name, it`s crap.
Re: doesnt list contents of 7z-archives anymore
It seems that call to external wcx is corrupted and does not work anymore. Only the included archive format are listed, for the other you get "Zone.Identifier".lichtwicht wrote:hello forum!

Anyhow you can list the content of a single 7z archive once you open it as a folder and select all files. Not as convenient but it do the work..
For me it works fine !
The contents of 7z archives are listed
and I can open the dirs and files from the lst file.
TC 9.0a x64 and x86
DiskDir Extended 1.67 x64 and DiskDirExtended 1.68 x86
Total7zip 0.8.5.6 with 7zip files from version 17.1

many thanks for the quick replies!
I made some more tries as unexpectedly it didn't work for me with the 8.01 too...
I have found that it works with an old version of 7zip..:
wcx_7zip-0.5.8.zip
with "any" tc- and diskDirExtended-version!
plus, I just tried again, it too works with Total7zip 0.8.5.6 !
I seem to have done something wrong while I was testing the first time!
sorry about that.
thx and greets lichtwicht

Re: DiskDir Extended and 7zip
Could anyone describe in details how to configure DiskDir Extended to work with 7zip? What plugins, what software versions, what settings, anything to be made manually? How to test that it works?
There are some comments here and there, but none of them is clear enough.
@moderators
When the description is ready, will you be so kind and link it to the very first message in this topic, please?

Re: DiskDir Extended
I remember that I've faced with it too and solved somehow (and I remember that I got special unpack-only MultiArc entry for it).
Just tried it, doesn't work by default with Total7Zip or MultiArc moved to first position, but I've discovered how to make it working with Total7zip. It doesn't support envvars in plugin paths, so you have to write direct path to 7Z plugin.

Re: DiskDir Extended
Perhaps I don't know how do make it complete or working in your case, I have Total7ip 0.8.5.5 plugin associated with 7Z extension and DiskDirExtended 1.6.7.0 plugin associated with DIR extension, I have all archive types checked in DDE. When I have these entries in wincmd.ini, 7Z archives are not expanded:
But when I change them to these ones, all work fine:
Code: Select all
7z=735,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\Packer\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
dir=95,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\Packer\DiskDirExtended\DiskDirExtended.wcx
Code: Select all
7z=735,E:\TOTALCMD\Plugins\Packer\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
dir=95,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\Packer\DiskDirExtended\DiskDirExtended.wcx
Re: DiskDir Extended

I can see one difference - I have got a line with different number for plugin capabilities:
I've changed it with no success. DDE still lists zip content and ignores 7z.
What about other DDE settings?
What about other software versions - Windows, TC, 7-zip? What about bitness - 32- or 64-bit?
Any detail may be relevant.

Re: DiskDir Extended
I'm using Windows 7 x64, TC 9.21a x86 (but it have worked for me on older TC too), external 7-Zip 16.4 referenced from Total7zip.xml:
On one machine I have default DiskDirExtended.ini with comments, on another I have almost empty:
It does expand 7Z archives but crashes on some of them (e.g. on my NTLinksMaker package) with exception:

Did you get the answer in the end? I tried change total7zip wcx path to absolute,but still won't expand 7z file.MVV wrote: 2019-01-23, 08:00 UTC I'm using Windows 7 x64, TC 9.21a x86 (but it have worked for me on older TC too), external 7-Zip 16.4 referenced from Total7zip.xml:On one machine I have default DiskDirExtended.ini with comments, on another I have almost empty:Code: Select all

Re: DiskDir Extended
Do you still get diskdir extended work in TC10 for 7z and other plugin need archivers? I still can't do that.
Re: DiskDir Extended
Just tried it, it have expanded some ISO files and a 7Z archive. Both ISO and 7Z extensions are registered for Total7zip plugin. What is strange, some ISO files were listed in a strange way: only README.TXT showed (perhaps ones about UDF file system that are seen by outdated software) but I see another files when enter them in TC using same Total7zip.

I tried almost step by step with no success.
I tried fresh TC 8.01, 9.21a and 10.00, none of them will expand 7z. I follow the instruction, start with fresh wincmd.ini with only
Code: Select all
[Configuration]
UseIniInProgramDir=7
And I notice it expands some RAR and some does not. I think it's because DDE only use its built-in archive libraries in my case, even I set UseCanHandleThisFileForWCXs=yes, any clue?
