I actually have changed my settings to:
UseTabs = false
ReloadModifiedDocuments = true
RememberOpenedFiles = true
RememberStatePerDocument = true
RestoreSession = false

This way, sumatrapdf is also remembering the last viewed page for each pdf file.

One of the most useless features of SumatraPDF.
After a few weeks of usage, the settings files grows without any big benefit.
I assume one doesn't read the same PDF all the time.

At the same time, my plugin will not work. What he does. So choose what you need.

Im using your plugin in Double Commander, is it something wrong with it?

Most likely Sumatrapdf itself is buggy. Check the Sumatrapdf folder. If there is a folder with the name like crash ..., then the program itself is to blame.

Also pay attention to the requirements in the Reidmy file:
ATTENTION: For the plugin to work properly, you must change the value of the
parameter UseTabs = true to UseTabs = false in SumatraPDF-settings.txt and

From my experience its pretty rock solid. Ive just checked and i found one crash report from 2023, when used with sLister (which is also rock solid, but have window focus issues, discussed by every user)

Yes, ive read readme and have those params setup to false.

rav wrote: 2025-02-21, 13:30 UTC Another thing, yesterday i found it cant search for 'Q' letter, please give us 'Q' letter back :D
The Q key is a hot key Sumatrapdf to get out of the program. I can't do anything about it.
I dont mean Ctrl+Q - this for sure quits Sumatra, but not from your plugin or sLister. For quit from lister only Esc is working here...

Try to open PDF in lister -> Ctrl+f -> type 'q'
I can type any letter and digit (just tried) in search text-box, but not 'q'. It is possible to paste (Ctrl + v) 'q'...
I tried also to search 'q' in Sumatra itself (not from lister) and it works normally, from sLister it also works.

I wouldn't call it useless. It is actually quite useful. One could argue the same for video players or streamers that remember the last position...

But I agree that the implementation is not ideal. The position-info should be saved in a separate file, instead of together with the settings. And ideally it should truncate after eg. the last 50 files. I did leave a message on the Sumatra github, but their priority is on other development right now.

Why did you decide that my plugin can be used in DC? In fact, at the request of some users, I have unofficial DC support, but officially DC is not supported and is not discussed here.

You can use my plugin at your discretion. But if you do not fulfill my requirements, all responsibility for glitches lies with you.

I also do not mean Ctrl+Q. Study Sumatrapdf hot keys. I understood about the search. I will try to fix it.

The plugin for viewing is discussed here, not Sumatrapdf. If you need this function in the plugin, you need to use another plugin. My plugin will not support this function. Since it is not needed in the plugin. The plugin allows you to configure Sumatrapdf for different viewing modes, as well as for using Sumatrapdf separately from the plugin.

I decided, because there is no clear info, that its not allowed to use it in this way. Also creator of TC invites to use plugins in other apps.

If there is another place/medium, where we can talk about in relation to DC, please send me info. I would like to participate.

Updated the plugin to version 1.18. It seems to correct the glitch with 'q'.

I noticed one more small quirk with this plugin. When I press F3 in TC, to view the PDF, the new window gets focus (perfect). But the search hotkey CTRL-F does not work, until I first click in the already active pdf window. Is it possible to look into this?

Can. It is necessary to use Win10, 11. And in them to set the activation of the window. And in Win7, install a program that activates the window. This is OS function, the plugin has nothing to do with it.

ok on win 11.

When I use F3 on a .txt file, (either with default lister, or with plugin Cudalister), and that window will also get focus automatically, now pressing CTRL-F will get me straight to the search functionality of that plugin (so without having to click that window an extra time). As such the TC SumatraPDF plugin seems to have a different behaviour.

When I click Ctrl+F, the cursor immediately moves to the search field.

You can not compare the plugins using a third -party program with plugins, which themselves perform viewing. They have a completely different principle of work. Since there is a program window and there is Lister window.

When I click Ctrl+F, the cursor immediately moves to the search field.
Here it only works as follows:

1. F3 Lister
2. 1 click with the left mouse button anywhere *)
3. Ctrl+F ... positions the cursor in the search field

*) You can save yourself the Ctrl+F if you just click in the “Search” field.

Could this have something to do with the settings in SumatraPDF-settings.txt?
