I'm on the latest beta 3.6.16779, and it seems I'm one of the few where CTRL-F only works after actively clicking in the pdf window.
Just FYI, For me, F7 doesn't work at all, when sumatrapdf is used, neither after clicking in the pdf window. But when from the top menu, I change between the viewing-plugin to another one, F7 does work. But my muscle-memory is ctrl-f

Then ask the author of SumatraPDF to fix this bug or use the version no higher than 3.2 from the sLister plugin.

The search function inside PDF file is operated by SumatraPDF.
