Wow! that was fast ! - less than 8 minutes response time!
Because your post appeared when I was writing my previous post. That's why it was so fast

Problems with "Destroy window"

Some time I have problems after canceling the program:

i.e.
- I have activated Ctrl-Q for Quick-View of files
- I select a root directory (i.e. C:\) and the plugin begins to analyze the whole hard disk
- I press Ctrl-Q to disable the lister WHILE it is analyszing the directory
- at the moment everything seem to be OK
- but when I quit TC I got error messages with "Destroy window", sometimes unexpected error and so on.

It seems that the plugin has problems (or makes them ...) when it is disabled while working ..

Hello
New beta of VisualDirSize (1.3 b4) is ready.

Changes:
- Added. Plugin now implements ListLoadNext function to avoid flickering
- Added little red marker to show where the splitter is located
- Added new icons in toolbar to look more like TC 7.0
- Added implementation of ListGetDetectString - plugin is loaded only when necessary.
- Fixed. Sometimes shadow of the buttons tooltip didn't disappear
- Some stability fixes
- Some other small improvements.
get it from my site

New icons in toolbar are taken from TC 7.0. I hope that it’s not a violation of the law. VisualDirSize is plugin for TC, so it’s related with TC and as Ghisler said here I could use them.

I'm waiting for translations and bug reports.
If it will be no error reports I'll put VisualDirSize on totalcmd.net as stable version.

Known issues: Help files are not included this release.

You have to wait until plugin finishes counting or just press ESC key.

Yes, but there are few LNG files that are not completed like
Dutch, French, Norwegian
and don't forget about new languages.

With version 1.3ß3 the feature Size Display works perfectly , if I select kb it display Kb , if I select Mb or any other it's also OK and in the good language (French)

With version 1.3ß4 whatever I select it's always displayed like bkM2 option and not translated...

I always use the same ini and the same language...

When I select English language : same problem, impossible to change the units.

I tried to change manualy the ini (SizeDisplay=0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) nothing changed in the display of units !

Error report:
---------------------------
Totalcmd
---------------------------
ListLoadNext error :
Access violation at address 0042F750 in module 'TOTALCMD.EXE'. Read of address 00000000
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
What I did: With quickview and visualdirsize as the active plugin I went to drive c:, quickly passed the cursor over 'Documents and Settings', 'Program Files' and entered 'WINDOWS' dir. The quick view title still had 'Documents and Settings' as title at the moment the error occurred.

If it matters, just before that I activated the option "Automatic updates based on shell change notifications".
TC for Linux please!

Thanks for bugs report :!:

@Vansumsen
ok, I know where problem is. I'll fix it tommorow.

@roentgen
Also I know about this bug, but as I explained it many times, I cannot solve it easily and quickly. There many reasons but main is that
TC lister interface is not perfect and not designed for my purpose. It cannot give me full control when you quickly move cursor on directories.

There is only one workaround of this problem. Just use VisualDirSize gently. It means don't move TC's cursor too quickly. Never close quick-view mode or TC main program when VDS counts directories. In this case VDS will work without such errors.

Thanks for the new update :)
A little issue: The link to the help in the window "Scan filtering" is missed.

Hello

cancelling the analyse:
kajoj1 wrote:... Just use VisualDirSize gently. It means don't move TC's cursor too quickly....
I have the same problems too..

Maybe that's a strange idea, but: maybe it makes sense to integrate a "configurable pause function"??

a) User options:
"Start analysing after a pause of XXX milliseconds."

b) automatic setting:
The shorter the path the longer is the pause before starting the analyse (on Root c: -> wait 2 sec; on c:\data -> wait 1 sec; on c:\data\projects\123-fg\phase a -> don't wait)

Splitter:
kajoj1 wrote: - Added little red marker to show where the splitter is located..
I can see it but I don't know what it is good for ...

Online help:
I use Firefox, but the help-command starts always "MS Internet Explorer".

External icon library:
Which structure, which content is necessary?

Displaying filtered results:
Maybe you can add the name or the definition of the activated filter in the display window? Now only the pressed "filter-button" shows that a filter is acivated, and there is no information which filter is on. Maybe you can add the filter to the result line: "Actual files in c:\data, filtered by *.exe"

Thanks for the program.

@Sombra
I'll check this. Thanks !

@Peter

If it could be so easy...
I can see it but I don't know what it is good for ...
You can make bars wider or narrower. Useful when files/folder names are so long that they are covered by bars.
Which structure, which content is necessary?
Library witch icons, the same you can set in wincmd.ini in IconLib in [Configuration] section. Check TC help for description of IconLib.
Maybe you can add the filter to the result line: "Actual files in c:\data, filtered by *.exe"
Well, I could easily add this to tooltip of button, but adding it, as you suggested, would require deeper redesign.

Display of enabled filter:
Some time ago there was a discusion in the german TC forum about the idea: "Change background color of windfow if filter is activated."
What do you think about it?

Scale factor of block mode:
Now the scaling is "relative", depending of the size of the screen, monitor resolution and size of files. maybe it would be an improvement to add an "configurable absolute scale factor"? "Display all files which exeed the limit of XX kB and lumb the other files which are under the limit.."
