No even after I reboot TC and don't press CTRL+S the typed characters search excludes all files not within the search parameter.

I'm using Tcmatch because there is the input field?

Ctrl+s is a toggle button.
(there is no tcmatch input field)
What do you mean with that?

Try parameter:

Code: Select all

-search "%P !%P*\*"
Hope this helps. Otherwise we should continue this in another thread.

Updated first post: Version 1.5.2 is available.

Code: Select all

Version 1.5.2
- Greatly improved the performance by around 80%-90%! It's just like a lightning now in a folder with 10.000 files.
- Added uninstall information’s in the readme.
It got very fast now!
Thanks "raytc" for the impulse.

@Samuel,

What is the code to find p.e. all .pdf files?
".pdf" doesn't work anymore.

Can you please read the readme?
Please do it.

If you use "match_beginning=1" then you either have to switch it to "0" and use ".pdf" or otherwise you can search for all pdf by searching for " .pdf".

Or just delete your "tcmatch.ini". by default it should work.
Do you have installed the update?

If any filtering does not work its the Ctrl+s thingy.

Ok. 1.5.1 did work fine.
1.5.2. apparantly did overwrite my .ini file.
I deled the .ini file as you've indicated.
Now it is working fine.

1.5.2. apparantly did overwrite my .ini file.
Shouldnt be possible. Can you reproduce it?
I deled the .ini file as you've indicated.
This was just to make sure you use default values.
QSE then creates a blank ini with default values.
Now it is working fine.
So you can confirm the speedup and its fast enough for the big folder?

Thank you for updating it to 1.5.2
I can't live without this useful tool.
I certainly hope that new users are aware of this "plugin/addon".

Your Welcome.

I think there will be users proposing features to TCs QS by the time TC7.5 final is there. They could be easily be lead here.

I also will request to get in the official plugin list on the homepage. (only possible when TC 7.5 is finally there.)

Could I make a feature request:

If the TC feature "Bring Files in Subdirs to View", i.e. a recursive subfolder search, could somehow be incorporated into QSX, one could have a tab open with the startmenu folder and very easily perform the same kind of search as in the new Win7 Start menu or like in DC's "Find and Run Robot" and easily start programs this way from TC.

But of course better with TCs and QSX many features.

So what I would like: either associate folders in QSX ini file for an automatic recursive subfolder search and/or a special character to type, so that QSX does a recursive subfolder search.

One could of course also press the TC hotkey for recursive subfolder search, but then there is an additional key to press and it takes time for the subfolder search to display, that's why I prefer my request.

Hope you will favor this idea.

Regards,

B.

Has been suggested by "ivanco9" here.

My second post after it gives a good answer.

In short:
a) Its already possible. -> use ctrl+b for branch view and then use QuickSearch eXtended. (I think you already know this if I got you right)
b) I could only implement something that would find the folders where the files are in, because tcmatch.dll is restricted to filtering the files and folders in the current view.
c) This would already be possible with QuickSearch eXtended if someone would write a content plugin for folders.

But I think you dont want to use b) and c).
