Issue when minimized…

Post by *Clo »

—> Alextp

:) Hello Alexeï !

• Please, test the following steps :

1. Set TC as “Only one instance”

2. Open any file (text in my tests) in the tool,

3. Minimize the UV 1.54 in the Win task-bar,

4. Minimize TC in the task-bar too

5. 2-click the TC icon on the Desktop : TC doesn't maximize again its single instance as usual and expected !
- You get that window from the UV tool.
- It's impossible to close that “fake window” and to maximise TC as long as you don't close the tool in the task-bar…
- When the tool is closed, you can click the TC-icon on the Desktop, then get it maximized again normally.

• This does not occur with U.V. versions older than 1.51.
- Unfortunately, the full version number is not updated in the programme, so one sees always “1.50” from «Properties» :|

• A version which doesn't cause that issue :
viewer.exe    1,103,360 bytes   August, 5th. 2006
:?:

:mrgreen: Kind regards,
Claude

Thanks for report Clo, I didn't think that fake window can cause problems... Yes, it was introduced in V1.5.2 to support xBaseView plugin: it requires TC window, otherwise it doesn't work.
Ok, I'll try to rename window so that TC will not see it but xBaseView will.

Ugly shortcuts

Post by *Clo »

2Alextp

:) Hi again !

• In this last version, I noticed that the View menu in French has shortcuts which don't look nice, because they use the keys of the alpha-pad corresponding to 1 up to 8.
- You can see that I mean on THIS IMAGE.

• Moreover, since the key "1" is "&", there is nothing for the first entry, because in a menu "&" is saw as the mark for the next character as a hot-key; so, we have &nothing
- IMHO, it should be better to use the NUM digits for all… even if it's not similar to Lister…

I confirm, and I think that finally a *.MNU file should be more flexible when such small issues occur…

Waiting for this (perhaps), using the NUM-pad digits should look better...

Strange.. if you reassign these keys through Options dialog to 1-8, will they be displayed Ok?

2Vansumsen
No plans for MNU files... I prefer to do menus "in Delphi way": using TMainMenu/TMenuItem classes

Keys indexes

Post by *Clo »

2Alextp

:) Yes, it's odd…
if you reassign these keys through Options dialog to 1-8, will they be displayed Ok?
- But I cannot ! The field at right side is not writable at all !
- If I try to remove¦change a character here, I get "None" but then, the character comes back endlessly…
• But yet, in my “viewer.ini” I have :
OptionsMode1=1
OptionsMode2=2
OptionsMode3=3
OptionsMode4=4
OptionsMode5=5
OptionsMode6=6
OptionsMode7=7
OptionsMode8=8

… while in the options box it is :
OptionsMode1=&
OptionsMode2=é
OptionsMode3=" double-quote
OptionsMode4=' apostrophe
OptionsMode5=( left parenthesis
OptionsMode6=- dash
OptionsMode7=è
OptionsMode8=_ underscore
• Let notice that the characters in the box work, they correspond to the key-indexes of the digits on a US keyboard for the alpha-pad, without any modifier.
• With a French keyboard, you must type Shift+& >> 1 - Shift+é >> 2 and so on.
- In the previous versions, we had the digits in the menu - although it's false, but better to spot and remember.
- To get "&" displayed, it might be "&&" since it's in a menu, but the user can't change this…
- Talking of that, I agree with Paul Vansusmsen:roll:
But since you don't want to make a *.MNU, there is a syntax i.e. in Uniview
which allows menus changes in a single language file :
774="Pas pour ce qui suit:"
775="Indentation auto"
776="Exporter l'image pour HTML"

;MENUS
10000="uv_fileNew &Nouveau\tCtrl+N"
10001="uv_fileOpen &Ouvrir\tCtrl+O"
10002="uv_fileSave &Enregistrer\tCtrl+S"
The language strings are classic (here up to 776=…) while the strings from 10000 and greater are menus where the short cuts can be changed¦translated at will…

Very strange!, I even don't know what to do, I don't remember what has been changed in menus in past versions... I'll try to set French locale here to reproduce this.

Looks nice…

Post by *Clo »

2Alextp

:) Hello Alexeï !

• Same than Paul, now the menu looks nice again !

- However, in the Options I've still :
OptionsMode1=&
OptionsMode2=é
etc.
- This is not wrong, they are the real keys to press…
- But I don't get the utility of that box, since it's impossible to assign another character¦combination to any short cut
using the field in the right side area…

So the "Hotkey:" edit field doesn't work at all? Even with other commands (FileOpen, FileClose etc)? Strange, it's standard Delphi control... :?
I'll try to ask at Delphi forums.

Not any…

Post by *Clo »

2Alextp

:) Hello Alexeï !

• I confirm : Unfortunately, not any short cut can be changed in that box,
even for the commands having <None> by default… :(

- The field is not writable, and behaves like I described above for all entries of the list.

1. Please test if the wrong shortcuts display is reproduced with
http://atorg.net.ru/temp/TestTntMenu.zip
It should be the same wrong display.

2. Does shortcut input field not work in this demo too?
Does it work with *some* shortcuts al last?

3. Attach info from this tool, and send me it by e-mail:

This is for bugreport for Tnt Unicode Controls author.
