I redirected all garbage to a separate INI too. And now I can just delete this file to clear all history) And no need in such function. BTW, with separate INI any external tool may work, so we don't need to add such stuff to TC code.
Will TC automatically re-create the re-directed file (history.ini) when it has history to save?

Of course. As any other own INI-file. Don't forget that you can redirect history to many INI-files, depending of its type. And to remove specific INI.

I thought you had to have the file there first with all the redirected sub-headings.

Yes. The main WINCMD.ini. Just leave in [Selection] section one line RedirectSection=%COMMANDER_PATH%\History\Selection.ini (any other contents of this section you may remove or tranfer to a section [Selection] of specified INI) - and TC will read/write this section from/to this file. You can redirect some sections into the same file or into different.

2MVV,

I followed Patermad's setup on that and made wincmd_History.ini, wincmd_Plugins.ini and wincmd_User.ini files. Is [Selection] a history setting? It looks like it has my internal associations list in it.

TC Help wrote:[Selection] Stores the last used wildcards for selection (Num +)

I saw that and still wasn't quite sure what it meant exactly. So, it IS a history item then and can be safely deleted without any problems?
