A misunderstanding---

Post by *Clo »

:D   Hello Mr. Ghisler!
• There is a misunderstanding:
• With (a) space(s) in the comment, TC wraps the line, but only where IT wants, not like WE need!
• Please, look at this:
Image: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/charries/relais/no-wrap.png
• Like you can see, nothing is wrapped, although there are spaces between each string!
¤ Note: the 3 rd. string "That's quite supid" is relative to the Win French name for "Start Menu" (means nothing), and not to the TC behaviour.
• The goal should be to obtain:
  • Menu Démarrer
    Start menu
    That's quite supid
8)   That'ld allow to write comments in several languages - for instance - or the captions for buttons (where's the same problem) in several languages too…

 Best regards,
Claude

There is no wrap in this case because the line is just too short! Unfortunately the descript.ion standard doesn't seem to provide a way to specify line breaks. :(

I also agree that there is a place for smilies, just as there is a place for bold text or exclamation points.

Most computer professionals might claim to read for a living since, after all, most communication on the screen is textural.

Since I read continuously all day long, I wish for reading as if it was well type-set in a long novel: relaxing to the eyes and communicative to the mind.

An occasional well-placed smilie is frequently "to the point". My complaint is only about the dilution of emphasis and the visual fatigue that overuse of smilies may occasion, not their appropriate use in situ.

I agree completely. I guess 90% of Clo's smilies do not avoid conflictual dialogs. Most of them are just needless and boring for me.

What's a problem, use 4NT - the same sytaxis...[/face]
You use 4NT on NT 2K or XP. I used 4DOS with DOS, and only briefly used it as the command processor when I went from DOS to Win95. I may have a look at TAKE command one of these days, but I don't need it any more these days.

I was being nostalgic.

:)

I do however like the way descript.ion has been implemented into TC. When I archive a lot of my stuff onto CD-ROM I make sure it has a comment associated with it via descript.ion which makes looking for that file, a lot easier.
