Not confirmed.
If [Configuration] AlwaysCopyInBackground=1 then CopyStayOnFile=0 works correctly only on the left panel. Doesn't work on the right panel.

Isn't it the other way around? It should also not happen in the left panel. Copying in the background may take a long time to finish. It would be weird if you navigate in your panel a long time and suddenly the cursor moved to the new file. It did not work that way in TC 11.02.monarch-lfv wrote: 2024-10-10, 12:39 UTC If [Configuration] AlwaysCopyInBackground=1 then CopyStayOnFile=0 works correctly only on the left panel. But is works in left panel. Why? The key should work the same in both panels, right?

It should not work in both panels when AlwaysCopyInBackground=1 is used, like the behavior was in TC 11.02. It is actually dangerous. Suppose the cursor suddenly moves to a different file at the moment the user clicks a button to do a certain task. People might end up deleting the wrong files, for example.monarch-lfv wrote: 2024-10-10, 12:58 UTC But is works in left panel. Why? The key should work the same in both panels, right?

This is true if you copy a folder with many files when copying in the background. If you copy one tiny file, then everything happens instantly. It is difficult to determine the boundary and correctness here. I would make it so that if the user moved the cursor from the source file, then moving to the new file will not occur, but if at the end of the copying process the cursor remains on the source file, then the cursor should jump to the new file. Or completely cancel this option in both panels when copying in the background.

For now I moved the topic back to the bugs forum to indicate there is still an issue which needs to be fixed.

Or another option: the cursor jumps immediately after creating (during copying) a folder/file. And the copying process will continue after the jump. And then the user's actions to move the cursor are no longer important.

I can confirm that with AlwaysCopyInBackground=1 and CopyStayOnFile=0 then TC only jumps to the new file in the left panel when I copy a file with Shift+F5 - in the right panel the cursor stays on the original file. It does not have to be a big file or a directory.
It works OK with AlwaysCopyInBackground=0
I can reproduce it in both TC 32bit and 64bit and with a clean ini with the two settings

Re: [TC11.03] Cursor position does not move to new file in filelist when I copy a new file with SHIFT+F5
Because the behavior is not fully reverted back to the behavior of TC 11.02. When a person uses AlwaysCopyInBackground=1 the behavior is now different for the left panel only.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2024-10-10, 14:48 UTC Sorry, I don't understand, why did you move the thread back?

This should be fixed in 11.50 beta 2, please check!
11.10.24 Fixed: Do no put cursor on copied file after copying with Shift+F5 when AlwaysCopyInBackground=1, even with CopyStayOnFile=0 (32/64)
