Obstinate issue…

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello !

- Same issue after several reboots ¦ turns off…

- The error string is :
30012="Error executing program!"
( In French I added : “… OR lack of memory”, 'cause it's displayed in that case too…)
- No free memory problem here, I've always around 250 MB free / 512…

Send me Sysinternals Regmon log with include filter set to totalcmd.exe, maybe I can see what's going on there.
Clean the view before clicking the link so no unneccessary info is included.

Otherwise format c: and never play around with outdated registry tips and tools anymore. ;)

Oh Claude,

since Windows still puts some necessary files on C:\ even if installed on e:\ or K:\ format c:\ will suffice.

If you one of those

BOOT.INI
bootfont.bin
ntldr

at c:\ your XP won't start again. ;)

:) Hi Stefan !

- Sorry, but here, it's the Win 98 SE on C:\ which don't start anymore…
- XP-Pro has ben installed years later in another new SATA-HD, nothing to do with the C:\ HD drive… It ignores totally the C:\ register, its <windows> dir. and this is even boring, since my M$ Office is unusable from the E:\ HD, since the DLLs and other caboodle are not loaded at the start up time…
- I had to install Open Office (bheuuuu…) for XP-Pro (my M$ Office 2K CD is lost…)

bug or no bug?

When I accede to virtual desktop (\\desktop\*.*\) it show the lnk files of the current user and for ALL USERS.
The lnk files of the user work fine, but the lnk files of ALL user don't work well.
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
