Big wish: Please make new function "search/replace in files"

I have needed this function some times in the past and I have to use NP++ for that. For search/replace in files you can specify any directory that contains textfiles. As an option you can check/unckeck button "in all sub-folders"

Thanks, Matthias

Hi
I've found a little issue(or a not implemented feature;o) using reagular expressions for search in (current) version 2.5.835.

If you combine a range with a negation within a character class the negation is ignored.

e.g.
the RegEx "[a-z^x]"
matches "x"

is it possible to fix it?

I guess that it's already possible:

When I open in TC the window "File Seach" (Alt+F7) with the text option (Alt+t) enabled (searching for the text: "test" for example) and then press F3 in the result rows to display (with Synwrite as Plugin) one of the found files, I want to have the following behavier in Synwrite:

If I press F3 (Alt+F) in Synwrite to "Search", the text of the TC ("test") will be adopted.

How do I set this option in Synwrite?

You can do it this way:
uncheck in options -> interface -> search -> allow lister to call custom search dialog
press F3 in tc search window to open selected file with synwrite. then press F7 to use tc search dialog

please also see: help -> help topics -> FAQ -> Q1

Options > Keys > Clear the association of "Find Next" and set "Lister Find Next" to F3. I needed some time to find this option and set it right ;).

In conjunction with the option Matthias030 posted, you will get the expected behavior.

No, not F7. F3.

@Matthias030 and @Dalai. Thanks to you both.

Why do you not use this forum to get the answer faster? ;-)

Hi,

can you implement the feature from the logviewer, that when you select a string, all occurances of this string are highlighted as well. I love to use syswrite, but I really miss this feature.

Many thanks

Clas
