A Final version isn't final until it's officially announced by Christian himself. Now, the history file may be labelled as final but that doesn't mean there won't be any new bugs and as a result fixes as well until the release date since Christian is giving beta testers a small time window to locate bugs in the final version also.
Being hasty in the past have resulted in the so-called Silent Updates and caused some confusion to users. Yet, even with steady steps a Silent Update cannot be totally overruled if there's a critical bug which its uniqueness does not justify the "hustle" of a new version.
