[9.0b1x86] Too flat interface

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

I don't think you should, current path bar color is good and familiar. But you've removed its border and its background is now concatenated with its parent bar background (where * button placed) w/o borders.
