I don't think that this is such a good idea. For example, user "Norfie" also had over 1111 posts before he was banned for deleting all his posts! You can imagine what could have happened if he had been admin here...All users with more than 1111 postings receive moderator status either automatically or by requesting ghisler.
Anyone interested in a Total Commander Wiki?

It took him about eight or nine hours. I did watch him do it.SanskritFritz wrote:[OT] how did he do it? One by one? Respect...deleting all his posts

If something like this would ever happen, you could easily do a rollback or aren't you doing regular backups also from the Wiki?I don't think that this is such a good idea. I think the power users here deserve to be trusted, there is no reason why any of them deserve to be treated sceptically regarding vandalism.

Yes I do, but unfortunately I knew about it only about 24 hours or more later, so others had already written new posts. I would have lost either these posts, or Norfie's posts. He edited the contents of his posts, so I saw no way to merge back all the data. I still have that backup, but it would take at least as long as when he deleted them to change them back manually..If something like this would ever happen, you could easily do a rollback or aren't you doing regular backups also from the Wiki?

Icfu referred to the Wiki. Within 24 hours do not happen so much changes (new articles) that it would count if someone really damages the content and you would have to roll back the backup.ghisler(Author) wrote:Yes I do, but unfortunately I knew about it only about 24 hours or more later, so others had already written new posts.
And even if there would be 10 or 20 new articles one could backup those articles and restore them after the rollback in no time (okay 20 minutes

So maybe sysop status for powermembers as icfu proposed should be worth the risc. In addition there would be not only one pupil to restore the new articles - if that ever would happen.

I agree that additionsl Wiki sysops would be nice, but I'm against an automatic solution.

But I think ther may be additional ones. E.g. icfu if he likes and AutohotkeyFritz äh SanskritFritz volunteered already, too.

I agree that Sheepdog and Stance have been very active in the Wiki, so I would agree if they would like to become Wikisysop.
I'm also open to other suggestions. 2-3 WikiSysops per Wiki should be sufficient, what do you think?

Thanks for support Sheepdog, but I have no interest to be part in such a small Wiki-Sysop-familiy.
I would prefer the concept of "sharing responsibility in a community of interested power users", not ghisler's hierarchical "giving responsibility to as few users as possible" as this means work, annoyance and egoism, not fun.
So, not with me, sorry.
Good luck.

Hi,
I have browsed these pages by accident, sorry for my late reply.
I like the idea of Power Members being WikiSysOps in the Total Commander Wiki, maybe only as a temporary solution, untill we have voted.
To vote Wiki -admins in this time doesn't make sense in my opinion as it would be to early. I know that Christian Ghisler is busy, but he should look more often into the Wiki.
The "Template:DelRequest" could be found by the Wiki -search.
Sheepdog,
you have just edited the german "Ordering" site:
http://www.ghisler.ch/wikide/index.php/Bestellung
by adding: Links to external FAQ at ghisler com,
please let me know (Discussion):
Do you really wants the page look like that?
Are the existing german Bestellung-Wikipages outdated now?
Would´t be one external link to "FAQ at ghisler com" enough?
I had have the hope, that Christian Ghisler some day may link into the TCWiki (from ghisler.com) for reading the FAQs, not otherwise.
Kind regards
Stance

I visit the Wiki quite often, but I don't write much into it.I know that Christian Ghisler is busy, but he should look more often into the Wiki.
Is there any way to get this on the "Special pages" or somewhere else where I can find it more easily? I detected only by accident when browsing the Wiki that there are delete requests...The "Template:DelRequest" could be found by the Wiki -search.
I'm also looking for a way to remove the links "Current events" and "Community portal", and put some more useful links there like "FAQ". Does anyone have an idea how this can be done?
