Hello strogg,
I have tested fileinfo 2.03 on some win98 & win95 computers with different extentions but it seems to work well, even with plugins.
try to delete fileinfo.ini and let fileinfo recreate a new one with default values.
try also to fix the default open page in fileinfo.ini
RememberAP=1
ActivePage= (try number from 1 to 6)

Hi raytc
fileinfo is designed to dump information from executable files only.
ie extention like :
exe, 386, sys, vxd, dll, ax, cpl, ocx, olb, qtc, qtx, scr, tlb, tsp, vbx, ds, ...
as many file can be executable file, fileinfo doesn't look at extension but analyse all files to search for MZ signature.

Hello Franзois!
I tried everything you told me but unfortunately without any result
Plugin behaves a very strange way. For example if first I open any EXE or DLL file and then open any *.386, *.cpl, *. *.cpx, *.ax. files - plugin doesn't crushes while I close it.
But if I open the abovementioned extensions first (especially from System directory) plugin crushes while I close it with an error message: "Access violation at address 64001365 Read of address FFFFFFFF".
The same thing happens with *.ocx files the only difference is the error message: "TOTALCMD caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff7a138"
Maybe it is a OS problem? How can I solve it?

Hallo! I have problems with fileinfo 2.03 when i have to View (F3) a .cvs, .xls and other excell files. For this files the excell start and say that the file is in use an was blocked by user xy, when I click on open in read-only then the Lister window appear. I know that this is an fileinfo "bug" because if I remove fileinfo all work ok. Is there something I can do? I have tc6.03a, office XP, winXP sp1...

Hello Franзois!
Thank you for new version of FileInfo!
Think I found the reason of previous problems with opening the system files in Win98SE. The IE6 sp1 at least must be installed, to prevent crushes. IMHO the problem was obviously related with old versions of ActiveX libraries. Now everything is ok!
