Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Slow loading on large files

Post by *beernutz »

Seems like the standard lister plugin is MUCH faster viewing large files. I wonder if maybe should try memory maping the files?

Anything to make large files show faster would be GREATLY appreciated!

REALLY nice viewer otherwise! Thank you!

Lister can only be that fast because it only loads a small portion of the file into memory. A plugin like Synus or Synplus has to load the entire file to count line numbers and for syntax highlighting. For example, to know whether you are within a comment, you have to parse the entire file from the beginning, because the entire file could be commented out.

The next version of TC will allow to open lister without any plugins with Alt+Shift+F3, and you will still be able to switch on the plugins with '4'.

Cool. Thats great news, thanks. I often wanted to open a file that way and until noe I had to unload/uninstall plugins.

Darker colour schemes

Post by *adi2004 »

I have 2 quick questions:
1. does SynUs or SynPlus have any darker color schemes?
2. witch is faster SynUs, SynPlus? (I guess SynUs but how much faster?)

I'm sorry if this questions have been already asked, but i just want simple answers, and from a quick browsing through the topics i coudn't find them
PS: if there arent any darker color schems i will going to make my own (just modyfing a bit the existing ones) where can i post them in case some one else needs them?

Advanced viewer plugin that allows to view and edit any plain text files with syntax highlighting (HTMP, PHP, Perl, C, etc.). You may create your own highlighting schemes for any types of files. Supports Unicode, KOI8 and DOS character sets. Additional syntax highlighting schemes you may find

Possible SynUs little quicker. But possibility SynPlus more best

About using SynPlus 2.7 as a standalone application. When I press Alt+Tab to switch to another application and then switch back to SynPlus text cursor disappears (seems text control losts focus). So I have to click on the text with the mouse cursor to continue editing. This is very annoying. Is this a bug or a feature?
