scp/sftp and network mapping on SmartPhone

Post by *slapp_vaffel »

Hi!
I've searched the forum but couldn't find the answers to these questions:
Can I connect to a sftp-server with the Smartphone version of TotalCommander? (I have a NSLU2 running OpenSSH)

How can I map a network drive with the SmartPhone version?
I've tried File -> Go to/History,
and then insert backslash symbol, but my phone beeps and puts the cursor in the TotalCommander filelist.

I have a Qtek 8310, WM5.

Thanks for this great piece of software!

Sorry, no, only the webDAV client supports encryption (via SSL), but not the ftp client.

To my knowledge, the smartphone devices are missing the necessary libaries (dlls) to work as network clients.

Is this still true? I'm using the beta release of TC on my Samsung BlackJack II wm6 smartphone, and found that the FTP plugin has a check box for SSL, which I tried using (after finding the needed dll in ssl_arm3.zip posted on topic 24409), but when I try to connect it just sits there for a little while connecting then says "Connection failed!". I know my server is setup correctly since I can log in with FileZilla via sftp just fine. Any thoughts?

You need to install the OpenSSL DLL separately, it's available on the same page as the beta version:

Sorry I didn't explain that part very well..

I had already placed the cecmdssl.dll from ssl_arm3.zip into my TC folder, to get it to stop giving the error about the missing dll, it was after that that i got the problem I mentioned here of it connecting then timing out.

Sorry, it seems that you are using the wrong protocol: TC/Pocket supports FTP via OpenSSL, also named FTPS. Your server supports FTP via OpenSSH, also named SFTP.

You need to install an ftp server with SSL support on your NSLU2 system to get access via TC/Pocket.

Would an SSH/SFTP plugin be possible for TC/Pocket?

Maybe - I haven't tried yet whether the openssh dlls can be compiled for Windows Mobile or not.

Unfortunately I haven't had the time so far, sorry. Most servers which support ftp via SSH are also able to supprt ftp via SSL, so it's easier to enable that on the server than to wait (maybe forever) for an SFTP plugin...

Hi there,

Just wanted to register my support for an SFTP plugin too. It would be a great addition to an already fantastic product.
