Change directory - Shortcut

Post by *volt77 »

in manual I have found CTRL+D shortcut to show favorites links. Fortunately if there 10 or more path the selection using keyboard is getting slow. Is it possible to define keyboard shortcut to change path directly. (eg. press CTRL+1 to go C:\download\programs\utilities)

thanks

If you use the ampersand "&" within the name in the directory hotlist you can define hotkeys yourself e.g
title: Utilit&y
command:C:\download\programs\utilities

will show utility in the hotlist, but "y" will go immedately to this entry and run the command.

Otherwise the starting char is used as hotkey e.g. titles

Archives
Utility
Desktop
programs
Userprofile
documents and files

When you here press u u will land on "Utility" but if you press u a second time the cursor is on userprofile.

Now just press enter and the commadn will be executed.

Hope that helps.

Eleven years later I learn something new from this post but I came here looking for another issue...

Is there a keyboard shortcut for changing the file path?

Currently I have to click on the path with the mouse.

I found nothing at https://shortcutworld.com/en/Total-Commander/8/win/all
