SYn 1.1 and TC hangs

Post by *Nigurrath »

Hi all,
have anyone tested latest Syn plugin

http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/syn.html

since version 1.0 I have this problem: each time I open any type of file supported by this plugin (eg. it's own readme.txt) it closes TC just when you press esc or press the [x] to close the lister. This happen regularly all the times. It sometimes doesn't happens when you press esc immediately without scrolling the window -??-
Up to Syn 0.9 all was fine!!

Anyone else having the same problem?

I have TC6.55 but happens also with older TC.
This is the list of plugins I have now:

I just want to notice that a user in the non-public forum has reported a similiar behavior.

Syn 1.1 23.08.2006 - 18:45
With Syn v1.1 I get "Access violation at address 017887C6 in Module 'syn.wlx'. Read of address 00000000"
It is reproducible on this conditions:
1. CodeExplorer is open
2. Scrolling up and down (PageUp,PageDown)
For testing I use a Pascal Sourcecode with about 3500 Lines and 32 Functions/Procedures.
The error appeares if I scrolling few times up and down through the whole code.
On error the error message occures always twice.
Tested with TC 6.55 on 3 different Computers (Win2000, WinXP).
By my opinion the issue is located in the Funktion detection (Regex-Engine).

Furthermore I get sporadic Errors such as "Invalid Pointer Operation" but I can't reproduce it.

I am testing Syn since version 0.8 and it is always the same.
So i returned to SynPlus 4 times because it is stable!
Syn is a great Plugin with many useful features (compaired with SynPlus).
If you value my opinion in the first place you should get syn stable!
A TC-Plugin should be as least as stable as TC itself.
seems the same behaviour of my system..
