Scrolling in help disregards Windows setting for mouse wheel

Post by *jb »

When scrolling with the mouse wheel in the online help of Total Commander 7.0bp2 the following Windows setting is NOT considered:

"Mouse Properties > Wheel > Scrolling > Roll the wheel one notch to scroll: > The following number of lines at a time:".

The TC Help scrolls always 1 line at a time, unlike the TC Lister which regards the mouse wheel setting (in my case for example 6 lines per notch).

TC Help is a Windows application and as such TC has no control over it (just like TC has no control over your web browser when you read any HTML documentation).

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

To Hacker:
Indeed you are right. %SystemRoot%\winhlp32.exe used by Total Commander and also by WinRAR for example is the culprit.
However the newer %SystemRoot%\hh.exe used by TortoiseSVN for example works correctly.

winhlp32.exe is the old help format by microsoft. hh.exe is the new html help format. FYI, the TC help has been converted to this format.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
