Sharing indicator doesn't appear even on manual refresh

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Sharing indicator doesn't appear even on manual refresh

Post by *roentgen »

Not necessarily a TC7 bug but this thing seems to persist over the years :P

Ex:
  • - share a folder (the way I do it: Alt+Enter on the folder within TC/Sharing tab/Share this folder/Enter to close the Properties dialog).
    - The special hand icon, indicator for shared dirs does not appear in TC after manual refresh or Alt+Tab.
    - The only solution is to go to some other dir and then come back.
As a side note: this works as expected in explorer.
TC for Linux please!

This happens because the sharing flag isn't part of the checksum which TC uses to determine whether a refresh is needed or not. For now I have no plans to change this, sorry.

Thank you for your answer but...
For now I have no plans to change this
If we were talking about Winamp I would've understand :P but when it comes to file managers not seeing whether a folder is shared or not is... how shall I put it... bad design :D.
whether a refresh is needed or not
I do the refreshing myself... still the icon doesn't change.
