Multi-Rename Tool UI in TC7pb2 under WinVista

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Multi-Rename Tool UI in TC7pb2 under WinVista

Post by *sangwooksohn »

Multi-Rename Tool UI is not displaying properly when using TC7pb2 under Windows Vista. (in my case WinVista64 Ultimate)

Above is the screenshot of Multi-Rename Tool ran in WinVista.
As one can notice in red box, some buttons are too closely placed to either window border or option box.
IMHO, these need to be addressed.

2ghisler, FYI, when Multi-Rename Tool window is manually resized, some buttoms mentioned above do appear nicely, other than one in the red box in following screenshot.

Thanks.

It seems that you are using a font which is a bit larger. Did you change the dialog box font in configuration - options - fonts, or is this the standard Vista font?

Font I used is the default Korean font used in WinVista called 'Malgun Gothic'.
For file list font, main window font, and dialog box font in TC7pb2, I use this font in 9pt size.
Here're related entries I have in wincmd.ini:

Fontsize=9
Fontname=Malgun Gothic
FontWeight=400
Fontsizewindow=9
FontnameWindow=Malgun Gothic
FontWeightWindow=400
FontSizeDialog=9
FontNameDialog=Malgun Gothic
FontWeightDialog=400
Iconsize32=16

This should look a bit better now. I couldn't test it with your font settings now, so could you please verify it?

It's better but some issues remain.

- The edit box for the file name is a bit too wide - wider than the right column of buttons (date, time, plugin).
- The ? button for direct file name renaming overlaps the "search and replace" groupbox.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you post a screenshot, please?

Indeed there is very little space there, sorry.

The width is exactly correct with the classic theme. Apparently the buttons and comboboxes don't have the same width look with the Luna theme, although the same width in pixels is set...

Indeed it's not possible to give them the same width with all themes. :(

But how about the squezed in [?]-button - could it maybe be put to the right of the editor button? (requires that the min. width is increased though).

As doesn't seem to be possible to fix this issue completely it should be moved to "won't be changed", right?
