Seperate Search Result Tabs

If I make multiple searches, I'd find it very comfortable if TC created a new (list view) tab (maybe with the search phrase in the title) for each search instead of replacing the one in the current tab, thus having only two possible result lists.

Agree, and I suggest a slightly different solution: add to the window with search results the checkbox or button "Feed to a new tab". Then user will have a choice between the current behaviour and creating a new tab for results.

Although search result handling is currently quite limited in TC you can already open the search results in a new tab by holding down the shift key when clicking "feed to listbox".

O dear! It really works. But there is no interface clue at all: no checkbox, button, even tooltip for the button...

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. I never actually missed That possibility though, but useful indeed.

Just had a look, at least it's mentioned in help...

That's a great, useful tip! Thanks!

Exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks!
Maybe it should be the standard behaviour, though.

So that leaves the title of the tab, like
"Search Result: *.jpg"
or
"Search Result: *.pcx"

Should be fast to add ;).

Shift+Click opens a new tab in many functions, e.g. in Ctrl+D directory hotlist or in the history, or when clicking on a drive.
