X tree button

Post by *eugensyl »

What do you says about one small 'X' button in each tree windows (or panel).

Useful it will be, the 'tree buttons', near favorite and history buttons, for open or close tree panels. Buttons must have 2 positions: on/off.

This visual layout show clearly the new TC 7 improvement, witch is very easy to use in this way!

Even, mouse context menu must have option to open/close tree panel for each file panel, somewhere in path or files panel.

Remember:
I know the menu options and I know how to put those command on the default bar.
But is not the subject of the topic.

Support!!!!

But see Mr. Ghisler's reply to my similar request here!

I don't understand the problem with "TC would become asymmetric"...

Perhaps it is an internal programming issue. Since the column tab values are already allowed to differ between panels with different custom column layouts displayed, what does "tab values would be incorrect" mean?

Or perhaps the keyboard guys (who press the tab key to switch between TC panels) would get confused if one panel displayed a tree and the other didn't.

In the latter case, shift-tab could be disabled for the panel which had no tree.
