Internal ZIP >2gb Warning

I started packing several dirs using the internal packer. After some time, I came back to find the warning about >2gb zip files being unreadable in some listers.
Is there any way to turn this warning off? I don't want it popping and stopping long compression jobs.
Since Winzip and pkware have supported >2gb archives for years, it would seem time to eliminate the message altogether. Or at least provide a way to disable it.

It's not a matter of disable any warning message, Tc internal packer doesn't support >2gb files.
You must wait for Tc 7 (or use beta3), this new version will not have this limitation.
Bye.

Maybe I should have posted in the beta forum.
I am using beta 3 and the warning still appears.

I've made some tests with ß3 creating a 3.7Gb zip file and i have no problem/warning at all, maybe other forum user could help you.
Btw, are you compressing really big files or normal size ones ?.

Further testing shows the warning pops up at 4gb, even though the warning says >2gb.

I've made one more test and i got a warning message, but only if one of the files that you're going to compress is bigger than 2Gb.
I'm sure that you know this

, but is the destination disk of the Zip file NTFS ?.
Maybe Christian may create an entry on wincmd.ini to supress this warning message.

I'm using NTFS. My tests show the warning on any sized files as long as they add up to >4gb.

My first test was with a 3.7Gb Zip file, i've made a new one with more data and you're right a warning message appears.
So that there are at least two circumstances when warning messages appear.
- One of the files that you're going to compress is bigger than 2Gb.
- Any sized files as long as they add up to >4Gb.
I'm agree with you, this messages must be optional. Bye.
