WatchDirs in background when long name added

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

WatchDirs in background when long name added

Post by *Flint »

1. Start TC with fresh INI with only WatchDirs=3.
2. Switch to the Brief mode.
3. In another program rename (or copy) some file with some long name.
4. In background TC window this new file is shown, but the columns are not resized and the name is cut.

Here you can see the video:
http://flint-inc.ru/Temp/short_name.exe (EXE includes both the player and the video)
or http://flint-inc.ru/Temp/short_name.rar (AVI-encoded video - for those who is afraid of EXE files from the Internet; needs MSU Screen Capture Lossless Codec)

This is intentional. It would make working with TC impossible if the column widths would change all the time!

Ah, intentional... I do not know that this is a feature...

I also do not like this behavior of 'watchdirs'.

If it is intentional, you can make it deactivable in the ini please?

Column width not adjusted when new file created

Post by *Hacker »

- clean ini
- WatchDirs=51

Focus TC, select Brief view. Create a file with a long name using an external application, for instance by running this AHK script:

Code: Select all

FileAppend, , aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
The new file is shown but the column width does not adapt to accomodate the long filename.
