When dragging a tab from one panel to the other and releasing the mouse, the tab is created in the "other" panel but it is not active. It might be nice if it became active upon creation.

Agree. And ability of moving intead of copying would also be nice.

I agree. Your wish corresponds to suggestion 4 in "Request: Enhanced and consistent drag&drop for tabs".
