[REQ] More search-criteria
Hi,
Recently I needed to search for all files (on a network share) which had a certain domain user as owner. Since TC couldn't do that, I had to write a custom tool. I think it would be nice to have (at least) this option in the "search file" dialog.
While I think that searching for arbitrary ACLs would be a big hassle to implement, some of the following options might be an interesting feature for some use cases:
- Search by owner (as described above)
- Search files/directories (not) readable by current user
- Search files/directories (not) writeable by current user
Opinions?

Search for owner is available in
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/SecInfo.html
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/FileX.html
For access rights there will be plug-ins sooner or later.
There is no need for a feature request. For custom searches TC has a content plug-in system.Opinions?

And even Lefteous' ownLefteous wrote:Search for owner is available in...

And (1 year ago) in the comments/description for Security Info plugin
so maybe now he can be persuaded to implement that.Alextp wrote:In the future versions it will also allow to show access permissions

Re: [REQ] More search-criteria
I agree to do this with a plugin like Lefteous.Dark-Star wrote:Hi,

In addition... I don't want to add another topic... because it's the right one.
What about a new search criteria:
[x] Only Files (NEGATION - not Directory Attribute)
Is mean, if you looking for ONLY files named 'language' you don't need a lot of 'language' directories. Sometimes...
Now we can find a directory (by Directory Attribute) but only files I don't know how.
Maybe if I put *.*\ in IGNORE list but in this case I don't see anything. Anyway is more complicated.
However it's quite simple to do a check box.
In extension, in advanced tab search, a check box for inverse any criteria it will be interesting. Don't you?
I want to be more clear:
NOT date between ...
NOT older than...
NOT size like...
NOT attribute...
Global switch for all is enough, I suppose. This is like ' | ' for files mask.

If you on the other hand ONLY want to find directories (and not files) then you mark Directories whit a checkmark like this: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/dir2.png
The attributes checkboxes has 3 states - not 2!
You just have to remove the square in the checkbox next to Directory in the Attributes section of the Advanced tab - See: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/dir1.pngNow we can find a directory (by Directory Attribute) but only files I don't know how.

That's it!
Thank you very much! It's a good point.
In search section, in wincmd.ini file it was saved:
language |*.*\
witch doesn't work if this string is introduce in search field. NOP
Unfortunately, in HELP those 3 states of attributes, new I think, are not documented. YET!
On the other hand, bellow 'Attribute' in 'Search - Advanced tab' is enough space to put an short explanation like this:
No/Yes/Doesn't matter
Thanks again!

That is not new - it has been since that for ages - I just checked that with an old Windows Commander v 4.03 from 1999.those 3 states of attributes, new I think

My req at this topic, not relataed with the prevous one:
It would be nice to have <= and >= options in file size definition.
Today, while determinig the best cluster size, I wanted to know how many files would fit in one cluster (depending on it's size). So I did 3 searches: < 32769, < 65537, < 131073 bytes. Wouldn't it be nicer to write <= 32 KB, <= 64KB, <= 128 KB ?
Of course I could leave this one byte, write < 32KB etc., but because some file types are aligned (i.e. executables), the result may significantly different.
