I'm using both WindowsXP and Vista, most time as standard user. So I need to run applications as another user, with Admin rights.

It would be great ro run Applications as a another user directly from the button bar. I recommend the command "Run as..." in the context sensitive Menu (right mouse button) of the button bar items.

I'm using runas.exe here on Windows 2000. Maybe you can do the same on XP and Vista?

Another alternative is to create a shortcut (lnk file) for the program with Ctrl+Shift+F5, then right click on the link and choose "run as different user". You can then drag this lnk file to the button bar to add it.

With Vista comes a new hotkey to run an application in elevated mode. In the start menu or any explorer window, you can press Ctr-sh**-Enter on an executable and Vista will elevate the task and ask for credentials if necessary.

Would it be possible to provide a similar hotkey within Total Commander as well?

Sorry, Ctrl+Shift+Enter is already reserved for the command line.

Some other combination then?
How about a separate command, then we can assign this to the hotkey of our choice.
