French language Ko --> Kio

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

French language Ko --> Kio

Post by *yop236 »

I use TC 7.0pb4 in french and on the down of the screen the size of the files selected is in Kio when it must be Ko...

In the WCMD_FRA.LNG, I found :

1435=" Kio dans "
1451="Kio"
1452="Mio"
1453="Gio"
1580="Codé|Peu dense|Info version|N° version|Type fichier|octets|KiOctets|Mioctets|Gioctets|Fichier|Dossier|Point de montage|Nom DOS|Chemin|Répertoire|Hors ligne"
1652="kioctets/s"
1657="kio/s"
5263="Octets\nKiO\nDynamique (x Kio/Mio/Gio)\nDynamique (x,x Kio/Mio/Gio)"
5414="Kio"

Kio, Mio, Gio, KiOctets, Mioctets, Gioctets ??? Why ???

Christian, thanks for the quality of TC ! Very good job !!!

Sorry for the french :lol:

A+ :wink:

Menet, Vansumsen,

J'ai effectivement plus facile en français...

I've not seen the other post in the forum... Sorry !

Thanks for the article in wikipedia... Now I know the difference but I don't love the "normalised", I prefer the "traditional"... I will change it in my version ! :wink:

I never see Kio or Mio or Gio in any other program then TC... :roll:

(2 exp 10)

The wife of my butcher is Danish…

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello Peter !

• Cool ! Below, the translation of the Paul's statement :

« We want for a TC as a state-of-the-art software. Windows uses still false units, but this is not a reason to follow it !
My mother is like me, she asks for half a pound of butter to the cheese seller (while she might ask for 0.25 kg N.f.t.T.)
While you are busy “correcting” that is right, let know that if Kio is too long, “K” only should be sufficient,
everybody (including the m****ns) knows what bytes are…
Friendly,
Paul »
:P

• Nice text, I'll copy¦print it, and ask to the wife of my butcher who is Danish to read it for me… :lol:

:) Hi Peter !

• Hum… I don't guess that you be close the Mum of Paul at age, AFAIK, she's > 90 ! :D

¤ And Paul+myself around 130… :(

¤ But I like the similarity : now in the U.K., the English pound (0.455kg) is no longer legal…
They must use the decimal one (0.5kg)
- Pretty rows in sight ! :lol:

Right - I am not quite up in that league. But I am conservative in my computer habits (went directly from Win 3.11 to Win 98 SE - then to Win XP SP2 - and I am quite sure I will skip the the first one or two versions of Win Vista :-( )
