Problem making Shortcut of a Directory

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Problem making Shortcut of a Directory

Post by *SergeBens »

Problem making a shortcut.

I discovered a problem making a shortcut of a directory within Total commander.

f.e.
I have a directory named "dir.name.v1.2.00.00"
when I Rclick this directory in the left window and then move it into the right window
to make a shortcut. the link is named "dir.name.v1.2.LNK" instead of "dir.name.v1.2.00.00".

Whe I make a shortcut with windows Explorer the shortcutname name is OK.

Is there a setting to correct this ??

With TC 6.56 the created link should be named "dir.name.v1.2.00.LNK".
HISTORY.TXT wrote:07.06.06 Added: wincmd.ini [Configuration] AppendLnk=1 -> TC creates lnk file names in the form file.ext.lnk instead of file.lnk (Ctrl+Shift+F5)
This should solve your naming problem in TC7 RC1.
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Thanx HISTORY.TXT, adding AppendLnk=1 to the ini-file was the solution I was looking for.
