Background images

Hi,

It would be very nice, and useful, if we can have (optionally, of course), a background image set by every folder.

If the folder contains a "backgro.und" file (as used on "descript.ion"), then this file would be set as image of the tab.

I know it may be very heavy for CPU, but nobody forces you to use it...

If you wanna have the same background in each directory, you have to copy the file to 10000 directories then?

I think it's more reasonable to implement a more general approach first:
Directory specific actions, configured by INI settings.

Only my oculist, my optician and my psy should applaud on such a feature ! :P

Edited : After reading Icfu's answer my HD supplier phone me and said that he should also be very happy ! :D

Nice ! But useless...

Nice but I need clearness when I manage files... it's not a toy !

When I want to see pictures I also want to see them without text and garbages...

Till now I only see inconveniences with background pictures and I'm still waiting for an real utility for a file manager !

Would it come you to the idea to replace the windshield of your car by stained glasses :?: However there are the splendid ones !

Friendly

I'm thinking in another image class. A soft mono-colored background like a watermark. (But for the taste of each one the colors were done...)

This system allows to faster distinguish a folder from other one, without read the path.

I have posted a link to such a proposal above. Colouring drive panels according to letter, not that bad... Maybe I would use it, rainbow colours, C drive in a red, D in orange, etc... Soft only, for sure.

Colouring drives is not enough for me. I need to colour some determined folders, (all in same drive).

But if we have option to use a background image, everybody can use your own image, some one a plain colour, some one a watermark, or some one a storm photo.

Oh, my. Now I am against Iternet too ;)
I hope I will not find my own site there.

P.S. I am working with the ugliest thing I've ever seen in my work now...

Not sure about coloring drives, but I would love to have colored panels for FTP connection. In work I am connecting to ~10 different servers. When I am using ssh/telnet just by color I know which server I am connected to. If I can do the same in TC for FTP to would be great
