asciii descript.ion not-correktly shown when win32-style tip

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

:) Hello !

• The option “Win32-style tipsis ticked here, and the info-texts from the <descript.ion> files are displayed alright.
- Win Xp-Pro SP1 - Fr.

• Please, give us more info, and show you “Display” settings page as a screen shot if possible (link to a server only).
- Which OS are you using ?

Hi, d.

Kindly check your settings under Configuration => Options => Operation.
Lower part of the box titled "File Comments".
There is a setting to use "DOS character set". (This is the ASCII character set as apposed to the Windows ANSI character set.)

If I untick "DOS character set", then German umlauts entered inside 4NT in a file comment will no longer be displayed correctly inside T.C.
If I tick "DOS character set", then German umlauts entered inside 4NT in a file comment will be displayed correctly inside T.C.

BBS comments will always use the DOS character set (ASCII), so it may be a good idea to tick the "DOS character set".

HTH,
Karl
