Creating Shortcut in Windows Vista

Post by *tridy »

Total Commander 7.01
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit

might be related to:

14313
14255

If I try to create a new shortcut from the TotalCommander window by right clicking on the empty space, it will give me a short dialog that would not create a shortcut but an empty file with the filename that I have provided.

preview

or am I missing something?

I will check that. Apparently there is some new way of "File - New" in Vista I'm not aware of.

Btw, you can create a Shortcut via right click - Copy, then Right click, Paste shortcut, or via Ctrl+Shift+F5.

Thanks for the tip. However my situation was a bit different. I was trying to create an URL shortcut. When you try to create a shortcut from windows and put a website address instead of the filename, it will create an *.url file instead of *.lnk .
