Strange Behavior with Irfanview

I have irfanview 3.8 and TC installed on a Win2k machine and a WinXP machine. When I press Ctrl+Q on the Win2k machine, the image is scaled to fit into the pane. When I do the same on the WinXP machine, the image isn't scaled, so I can only see a portion of it. I have tried changing the viewing options in irfanview, to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Works for me on XP. But I have IrfanView 3.85. Of course you have tried hitting F (with picture pane in focus)? As far as I can remember this worked OK in previous versions of IrfanView, too.
