FTP delete directories shouldn’t follow links

According to the “FTP Confirm Deletion Dialog” (to the left), links are followed and what they point to is also deleted. I think this is quite counter-intuitive and is certainly not how most UNIX utilities work. Can Total Commander not determine that it is a link and not the directory itself and issue a deletion of just the link?

Not confirmed here - how did you get this dialog?

With TC 7.02a => eFTP (passive or active mode, unencrypted) TC shows "<DIR>" for both junctions (links) and real dirs on the remote FTP machine.
But when deleting a junction over FTP, the content pointed to remains unchainged here, only the junction is removed.

Maybe this is caused by the FTP server or a special setting?
I tried both with/without Explorere deletion method - no recursive content deletion is done here.

On my web-server TC shows <LNK> for links.

I get this dialog when I try to delete a directory on an FTP server. Perhaps this warning is only given for servers where Total Commander can't determine if a directory is a real directory or a link.
