Deleting progress percentage overflow

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

:) Hello !

• Because :
1. You didn't post any message before, hence URLs are not allowed during a few days,
2. The images can't be displayed here directly on the board, that's not supported (although requested many times…),
so using the marker is useless. It'll work as a one…

• That doesn't prevent you to explain your issue a bit more with a text…

Even first time users can post castrated URLs, if they leave out the first w, so the URL is displayed as normal text:
ww.blabla.com

Also they can add URLs to their signature, as many spambots regularly prove... ;)

Then again it's nicer to write http//***.blabla.com instead. Wouldn't full URLs work in a code box for first time pos(t)ers as well?

I haven't tested what newbies may do and what not, I only suggested one way I have seen lately.

Imho it's easier to add one single missing w instead of replacing *** with www. Not all websites are running a WWW-server on the second level domain.

But, as newbies won't ask you or me before posting, they are on their own anyway. ;)

BTT: Maybe it's related to

[tc7b3] Percentage of deleting files > 100% (1643%) (fixed with TC V7.00.RC2)
or
Copy percent error (this thread is about copying, but concerns TC V7.02a and isn't claimed to be fixed)

Deleting: TC first counts all the files to be deleted, or sums up the file sizes when copying. Apparently a different number of files is counted then is actually deleted later. This can happen when files are added /changed during the file operation, or with files with unusually long names.

I'm now showing no progress when the user aborts counting with ESC. Maybe this was the reason of the problem...

Hello, Christian.

=> Hm, provided we can trust this report, Lösch-Anzeige bei 478% ?!, and provided he is really using T.C. 7.55pb1 as his signature suggests, the answer seems to be: sorry, yes, someone does.

Kind regards,
Karl

That isn't related to this bug report. What gets is an infinite delete loop from recycle bin to recycle bin. So the percentage shown is NOT in error.

Hello, Christian.

Correct. oompoop created an endless loop by deleting items inside the recycle bin to the recycle bin. T.C. cannot be blamed in this case.

So your question has not been answered so far. :(
