Total Commander

In horizontal split mode, i find the duplication of the drive button row and the combo box row a waste of space.

Couldn't they be arranged in a vertical column at the side of the panels ?

(Another solution would be to keep them side by side in their sole original horizontal top rows (in short: just not split or move that row at all), although that could become more a confusing arrangement.)

You can turn off the drive combobox in Options / Layout / 'Show drive combobox'. It will be still accessible by Alt-F1 and Alt-F2. Also you can turn off this setting: 'Show two drive button bars (fixed width, above file windows)', it looks more compact then.

Like SanskritFritz says, you can use the ALT+F1 or ALT+F2 short-cuts. One tip if you are a mouse-user; You can make buttons in toolbar with some of these commands:

- cm_SrcOpenDrives
- cm_LeftOpenDrives
- cm_RightOpenDrives

2SanskritFritz: I know, but the reason why i like the combo line is because the free disk space is displayed on it. Do you know another way of displaying it... (although... wait... i'm making no sense... how could the free space be displayed in a narrow column ? So OK you're right)
