TC 7.02a & Vista64x Ultimate: bzipplug.zip install

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC 7.02a & Vista64x Ultimate: bzipplug.zip install

Post by *rolsch »

Hi,
no german bug report folder?

I see,
the plugin bzipplug.zip (from the tc-website)
install the files in c:\program files\totalcmd\plugins\...
and not to c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\plugin\...

Vista 64bit Ultimate and TC 7.02a

the plugin bzipplug.zip (from the tc-website)
install the files
it's not the plug-in it's TC which install plug-ins.
c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\plugin\..
Well I guess TC isn't installed in c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\ either?

Sure,
TC "is" installed in c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\
and the plugin-files was present after the install in the path c:\program files\totalcmd\plugins\...

- i start the the plugin-install with an double-click in the TC-window...

(na hoffentlich versteht jemand mein saarländisch-englisches gebrabbel...)

I'am actually not using a 64Bit system, but may this is caused by x64DisableRedirection, while installing the plugin?

Hi Holger,
can you explain "x64DisableRedirection"?

:arrow:TCWiki: x64DisableRedirection
is an entry inside wincmd.ini to disable the file system/registry redirection.
It's mainly used to allow TC(a 32 bit application) the access to "System32" (the true 64Bit system folder) without the redirection to "SysWow64"

I'm not sure, maybe this redirection is also active when using %ProgramFiles% instead of %ProgramFiles(x86)% :

Kind regards,
Holger

I tried with Vista x64 Ultimate under VMware and could not reproduce the problem.
I installed TC into C:\Program Files (x86)\TotalCmd\, then opened the bzipplug.zip archive from TC, and it suggested me to install it into C:\Program Files (x86)\TotalCmd\plugins\wcx\bzip2.

Open your wincmd.ini file and check the pluginbasedir — what value does it contain?
