Total Commander

When copying a large file over network (WAN, VPN, anything) when the copy operation is stopped by a broken network communication we have two options: cancel (cancel the whole copy operation of the selected files) or ignore (skips the file and continues with the remaining files).

Is there any chance to add "resume" option for the files being copied? To retry and continue the file copy operation when the network connection has been resumed?
The other idea is to proceed as with FTP download to close the file and leave the file containing as many bytes as could have been copied and then when copying again, present not only "overrite" and othe options but "resume" option as well.

The above improvements would be great in case of copying large files over network.

I had the same issue several times. I tried robocopy also with the robocopy gui but that does not satisfy the need.
Last time I worked with teracopy this worked (also for files > 4GB). It also has the possibility to add some command buttons to total commander that execute teracopy with the parameters of the selected file. Negative: it is a separate program with installation. It includes teracopy in the windows handler for copying ...

=> It would be helpful to add the resume feature to total commander as a option in the background copy.

( I searched the forum but did not find any hint where this could be hidden in tc.....

I tried this last year but does not work smooth and killcopy is kind of buggy.

I found another solution. (Had to download another 8 gig over WAN)
The Free Download Manager is capable to work with files also: If you add a download with the file:// prefix it will work with all features that are available.
