TC7.02a Hide command line and drop file on command line

Post by *white »

  1. Disable the option "Show command line" in order to hide the command line
  2. Type a letter on the keyboard in order to make the command line appear
  3. Dropping a file on the command line is not possible
It seems the drag and drop feature checks the configuration option to hide the command line instead of checking whether or not the command line is actually hidden or not.

I don't understand somthing.

Of course not possible - you disabled command line in first step. Where is a bug?

Update: If you mind an arrow ("letter"), it seems to be a bug.
Update 2: In white's order it may not be a bug: command line should hide again when starting Drag&Drop, but you can use Ctrl+Enter hotkey instead of D&D.
But if you have already started D&D and activate command line while dragging file(s), D&D to command line doesn't work. It's a bug.

I confirm the bug.

Not disabled, but just hid. It's another matter.

No, it should not. Look at p.2: there is a letter types in the command line — in this case it is not automatically hidden on losing focus. So, we should be able to D&D files there. But we are not.

Indeed Darg&Drop isn't enabled for the command line when it is initially hidden. I'm not sure whether it's such a good idea to enable it every time the command line is shown, and disable it again afterwards...

Why disable it at all? When command line is invisible, it's just impossible to drop something there, isn't it?..

I'm always working with enabled command line, so it's better to ask those who have "Show command line" disabled. IIRC this option disabled by default, so on machine with right limitations (e.g. on drive with write protection) and if admins didn't tweak TC, this may be lack for these users.
