Drag file to directory tree folder opened by <Enter>

Post by *ts4242 »

I searched the forum for this bug but cannot find

How to reproduce:
1. Show directory tree <Ctrl+F8>
2. Drag a file from the file list to any folder contains some subfolders
3. Press <Enter> or <Space> to open the above folder
4. Drop the file into a subfolder
a message box popup says "No files selected!"
Also you cannot drop the file into the file list panel after opening the target folder by <Enter>.

It doesn't seem like a bug. It's more a not-so-well-working "feature" :) . When you press Enter or Space, it changes the directory of the tree so that refreshes the files list and de-selects the file you have started dragging. Perhaps when drag has been started, the filelist should not be updated...

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3
x64: Clients/Servers from Win7 to Win11 and Win2K12Srv to Win2K22Srv, mainly Win10 though.

Yes like Windows Explorer, or maybe better when drag has been started, TC saves the selection and restore when drop occurs.

Indeed this works currently only when using a separate tree, not when using a tree within the file panels. I will try to find a solution.
