What do you mean? Is Shift+F4 what you're looking for?

I do not see this option in TC menu. And by the way this opens my own editor.

Where is in the TC menu the option to open text file using TC own editor ?

TC is the file manager and does not have windows standard option File/Open New Text File ????!!!

Try right-clicking on the current path element.

But Shift+F4 has no internal command. Only guru's know the shortcut and who (have time to) read help.

I'ts not a bad ideea to have one for menu or button bar...

Maybe... ( a lot of hopes are made about TC 7.5 - sorry) a new tool like TCUPNew made by Major Peter & Maciej Adamczyk can be native into TC 7.5.
It is not a big deal, but it is useful, especially for new users who think in spirit of MS and they don't have so NC & DOS anymore.

I will propose a new shortcut for that tool: Shift+INSERT
